My mom was a bus driver and drove me along when I was little and I just kinda fell in love with the bus.” Cynthia’s drives #383 for Supply Elementary School and is also a teacher’s assistant.įor 21 years Amanda Smith has been driving a school bus. “When you are at your worst moment they can turn it into your best moment. “I just love driving and just love kids,” Cynthia said. I like to say that my bus is a classroom on wheels.”Ĭynthia Reaves has been behind the wheel of a school bus for 35 years and counting. She told us one of the secrets is “Giving them respect. Someone noticed how her students “had their eyes glued to you for your signal” and wanted to say “We are quick to complain about the number of stops you have to make, so I wanted to change that up and give you a quick high five for a job well done”. Janet’s route covers West Brunswick High School, Shallotte Middle School, and Virginia Williamson Elementary.
